According to a report by Mersad News Agency,
the Vice Chancellor for Health of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences
announced a significant decline in influenza cases in the province.
Dr. Fariborz Imani, referring to the results
of the Disease Surveillance System monitoring, stated that in the fourth week
of Azar (late November–early December) of the current year, the number of
confirmed influenza cases decreased by more than 50 percent compared to
previous weeks. He added that this reduction indicates that the main peak of
the disease in the province has passed and the trend of infection has entered a
downward phase.
However,
the virus will continue to circulate until the end of the cold season, making
adherence to health guidelines essential. Emphasizing the role of individual
behaviors in controlling the disease, Dr. Imani noted that regular handwashing,
wearing masks in crowded places, and avoiding close contact with people showing
symptoms are the most important preventive measures against influenza. He also
stressed that individuals experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore
throat, and body aches should refrain from attending public places and, by
getting adequate rest, help prevent the spread of the virus.
The
Vice Chancellor for Health further highlighted proper nutrition, consumption of
fresh fruits and vegetables, adequate fluid intake, and strengthening the
immune system as key factors in reducing disease severity. He underscored the
importance of special attention to high-risk groups, including children, the
elderly, and people with underlying health conditions.
